When in doubt, look up. – Anonymous
For a few years I lived in a crowded city, where the sky was invisible under a blanket of smog and neon. I hadn’t realized how much I would miss the calming openness of that big dome!
I’ve lived in a ‘big sky’ area for years now, and I’ve grown to appreciate the changeability and vastness of the sky. It might just be my favorite natural element. It’s pretty hard to take in all that space and not realize how petty many of my thoughts can be. For me, nature is a sure kick-starter into gratitude.
Exercise: Focusing on a natural element is a good way to get out of the head and into the flow. Consider one of your favorite aspects of the great outdoors. Write a thank you letter to that mountain, tree, flower garden or river.
